Exercising your dog

"Ramsey and Maxie"

Living in Pasco county affords me the opportunity to have access to some of the beautiful natural parks that we have available to us.  Couple that with the fact that once your dogs are truly off-leash trained, you can have an extensive of the beaten path experience with them.  Every weekend I take an early morning walk with my good friend Sarah and her Dog Maxie.  Ramsey and her have grown up together since they were pups, and they are both utilized in my dog training business with my clients.  They are treated to an hour and a half of vigorous running and jumping and acrobatic chasing.  Their recalls are perfect, and there is never any people where we go.   Ask yourself this; what kind of exercise does my dog get?  I ask that to all of my clients.  They all respond “I walk my dogs all the time…”   Further questioning reveals that this usually means,  ”I take my dogs out to potty for 5-10 minutes a day”.   Remember that a happy dog, especially those of the working breed variety thrive on exercise.
